ROCHAMBEAU

F/W 2016

Laurence Chandler and Joshua Cooper, the creative design duo behind New York City menswear label Rochambeau, took inspiration for their Fall/Winter 2016 from the 1992 Tupac Shakur film Juice. The looks sent down the runway were oversized and layered, giving us that very urban 90s feel. There were overalls, sweatshirts and baggy trousers, shown in warm earth tones that were quite popular in streetwear fashion at the time. The line, however, felt updated with the use of modern fabrics. Ponyboy favorites included the mohairs and ponchos. Though referencing early 90’s hip hop fashion, the line seemed modern in design and cuts, with tweaks giving it that progressive Rochambeau look. We call this fresh. The design duo have successfully earned respect in menswear fashion. Juice indeed. Photography Alexander Thompson.  http://rochambeau.nyc
