DAVID HART
F/W 2018
It’s no secret that Ponyboy worships all things from menswear designer David Hart, with his twist on 50s mid-century aesthetic presented in past collections. However, this season Hart made this statement: “This collection is really inspired by the mass exodus of American brands leaving New York to show in Paris. . . . and is mashed up, a bit, with French New Wave cinema.” Certain looks were adorned with pins that had witty statements, including Ugly Américain. Surprisingly, the entire collection all seemed a bit more casual and relaxed than previous seasons with his to-die-for suits and tuxedos that pop up on Hollywood red carpets. The colorful striped Saint James style sweaters lent a fun pop of color to the looks. But our very favorite pieces were the purple suit worn with a red beret, and the fabulous printed cigarette pajama-style pantsuit worn on the only female model (who also happened to be wearing a fake mustache!).
