GEORGINE
S/S 2016
New York-based Dutch designer Georgine Ratelband sent an incredible array of colorful fashions down the runway for her Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Our favorite looks were the reversible spandex evening gowns in color-blocked pastels with low cut-out backs or one-shouldered. These long and lean gowns screamed modern and fun with a twist of Halston. She accessorized these gowns with fantastic fur stoles for which she is gaining notoriety. We went nuts for the futuristic ball stoles that looked like something from an early Star Trek episode. But the show-stopper was obviously the fabulous tan sequin gown that closed the show, paired with an outrageously long mint-colored stole that went for miles! This look was reminiscent of a Bob Mackie creation from The Sonny & Cher show back in the 70s. Drop-dead glamour! Ratelband’s accessories of choice included chunky lucite jewelry, fur fanny packs and latex arm gauntlets. The brilliant out-of-this-world makeup from MAC Cosmetics was accompanied by ballerina buns with a streak of pastel. Gorgeous! Photography Alexander Thompson. http://www.georgine.com
