LRS
SPRING/SUMMER 2021
Spring/Summer 2021 collection will mark LRS’ fifth year anniversary. This collection was used as a reset of sort for the brand, by using design elements from their past 5-year journey, designer Raul Solis is able to look forward by looking backwards.
A departure from previous seasons, Solis opted to use elements of extraction, reflection, and precision focusing his eye on proportion and silhouette. The collection features a strict primary color palette that demands the viewer to focus on Solis’s idea of a rare minimalistic style. By focusing the collection on tailoring & silhouette, the brand’s language in leather and denim was elevated in styles, such as a “Bubble” denim dress that pushed the idea of silhouette, combined with how we are used to seeing one of America’s most iconic fabrications. Leather is interpreted in precision cut tailoring with LRS’ play on exaggerated shoulders and pant disproportion. Tailored jackets were stripped from classic detailing like lapels or pockets to only show one button, leaving all detailing hidden in the interior of the jacket to further focus on construction and silhouette. Recognizable circle and chain details are revisited in the brand’s new exploration of knitwear.
The collection was made by hand in Raul’s home studio during the unprecedented national lockdown. This is a rare insight into Raul’s talent on garment construction and design. It was extremely important for Solis not to involve assistants or interns to avoid jeopardizing their health. Making this collection led to his most personal work to date. http://www.lrs-studio.com/
