ROBERT GELLER
A/W 2017
German born designer Robert Geller chose a very bold military inspired vision for his latest collection for Autumn/Winter 2017. Dubbed “Love and War”, this collection celebrated his 10 year anniversary for the menswear label. Geller gave us combative wear, perfectly suited to the climate of fear surrounding us, with terrorism running amok, and in line with the resistant political sentiment felt all over the world. He featured camo., face masks, epaulets and combat boots. Yet the idea of combat and resistance was also juxtaposed with some soft details, for example, the dusty pink and purple camouflage prints, bright satin trousers, and the message of “Love” printed on hoodies and sweatpants. Some of our favorite pieces from the collection are the precisely tailored overcoats and trenches, something Geller excels at every season. The final statement the designer made was wearing a T-shirt created by his wife for his runway bow with the words “Immigrant” boldly displayed on his chest – yet another reason that we just love this designer!
