ROCHAMBEAU S/S 2017

A FASHION OASIS

Hot off their 2016 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund nomination, Rochambeau design duo Laurence Chandler and Joshua Cooper gave us a Moroccan style theme for their Spring/Summer 2017 collection. The shapes were perfect for the warm weather months, including breezy, loose-fitting silk shirts, caftans, tunics and cropped trousers. The overall colorful scheme created a very relaxed yet tropical feel, with pops of royal blue and purple mixed with whites, grays and lavenders. Our favorite look had to be the high-waisted crop trouser, which opened and closed the show. The designers also wisely threw in a few great womenswear looks, perhaps a clue to a forthcoming womenswear collection in the not-so-distant future. And why not? By the looks of it, the designers have moved on from their streetwear beginnings and clearly made their mark on modern menswear design.  Photography Alexander Thompson.  http://rochambeau.nyc
