THE BLONDS

F/W 2016

David and Phillipe Blond served us major Alice in Wonderland realness for their Fall/Winter 2106 show. Starting with a backdrop of gigantic, trippy, colorful flowers, models walked the runway in classic Blonds staples, including their trademark corsets, bodysuits and skin-tight gowns. The blue pot leaf party dress with petticoat was fun, and the white and pink mini dress with “eat me” appliqués, made us think of delicious birthday cake. We also craved the glittery pink babydoll dress that resembled a giant cupcake. And then there were sequins, lots and lots of sequins, including the full-length black puff parka, a striped matching catsuit and bomber, and many more. Hair was worn in pink dreadlock buns with netting. How genius was that? And we saw the fantastic MAC makeup designed by the genius known as Kabuki. It was a very confectionery collection, and it made us hungry for more Blonds! Photography Alexander Thompson.  http://theblonds.nyc
