CARLOS CAMPOS

F/W 2016

We first grew to appreciate the designs of Carlos Campos while covering his presentation last season. And for his Fall/Winter 2016 debut runway show, Campos did not disappoint. The designer gave us an abundance of looks in hues from a color palette of blue, cream and camel. Signature elements of the collection consisted of utilitarian and classic tailored menswear, with modern safari-like jackets, trenches and dramatic capes. The tan belted trench, worn by model Harry Curran, is every man’s perfect companion for travel. Brushed wools and cotton velveteen fabrics provided texture and luxury to the mix. And every man always needs a great white shirt in his closet, as well as a wide-brimmed hat option in the cooler months. Campos wisely keeps his looks modern by showing tailored trousers with sneakers as the shoe option, which is pretty much how stylish New York men get around this gritty city. What really makes us fond of Carlos Campos’s designs is that they’re not only elegant in design but also actually seem wearable and masculine at the same time.
