CARLOS CAMPOS

S/S 2017

For Spring/Summer 2017, menswear designer Carlos Campos took us to Cuba with his monochromatic menswear designs. The line was clean, understated, and simple – words that often come up when thinking of the designer’s past collections. And this season the designer kept with his signature style, yet with strong military overtones. Several looks included overly long straps dangling from clothing as models walked the runway. A terrific art deco print in navy and green added an intriguing element into the mix. Some favorite looks included the jumpsuits in both navy and olive, as well as the introduction of a long guayabera jacket, perfect for hot summer evenings. Additional looks that grabbed our attention were the black & white stripe pieces, and the elegant white double-breasted suit jacket. Campos also included some sporty women’s looks that succeeded in the collection. And a great finishing touch was the short silk scarves worn on the necks of many of the models.
