FADE TO GREY
MILES MONTIERTH
“Fade To Grey” is the name of our latest Ponyboy menswear editorial, a song title from the new romantic band Visage, fronted by style icon Steve Strange. A favorite time period of ours, the late 70s to early 80s proved to be so creative and expressive, from the punk movement to the birth of new wave. Legendary clubs in London and New York emerged, for example, The Mudd Club, Danceteria and Blitz Club. Dancing to underground synth hits in expressive and wild clothing, these young, rebellious kids were our inspiration. Twenty-year-old newcomer Miles Montierth from the Fusion Agency New York, featured an eclectic mix of vintage and new designer menswear fashions.
From makeup artist & Ponyboy beauty editor James Vincent. “Pretty boys break the rules of beauty as they pick up their girlfriend’s pencils and brushes to blur the lines for the next New Wave. My inspiration here was the first taste of freedom you feel when you find your place in nightlife and the music and people and fashion let you feel like you belong somewhere for the first time. Here bold, bright color smudged, smoked and smeared along the lash line for a gender-bending play on sexy.”
