STOOP-ENDOUS STYLE

MODEL DEMI JONK

Dutch model Demi Jonk from the Wilhelmina Agency New York stars in our latest Ponyboy womenswear editorial, “Stoop-endous Style”. We’ve always been enamored with the quaint and colorful old homes we’ve seen throughout the streets of Brooklyn. Our stylist/fashion editor, Xina Giatas, took this colorful inspiration and mixed designer pieces with vintage staples from some of our favorite New York City haunts, including Gilt Ridden Vintage and Worship Vintage. Photography by Alexander Thompson. Makeup by Rachel Estabrook. Hair by Erica Zimmerman for Pinmeup Hair.

YEAH! NEW YORK

KAREN O STYLE

Back in 2000, a young and high-spirited musician known as Karen O burst onto the underground New York City music scene. With a very unique and powerful voice, as well as a rebellious stage presence, young, hip girls and guys became in awe of the lead singer for the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s. Her eclectic costumes, designed by the sensation known as Christian Joy, were topped with that signature Johnny Ramone bowl hair cut which gave her a distinct look. She and the band created their own voice–the voice of a new generation.

We took Karen O’s style and exuberance as our inspiration for this latest womenswear editorial. Ponyboy editor and stylist Xina Giatas stated, “I loved mixing the traditionally masculine fabrics and darker colors with the feminine form. The outcome was a powerful sensuality, just as Karen O embodies”.

DISCO DOLL

THE GEORGINE LOOK

The dazzling Fall/Winter 2015 womenswear collection by New York designer Georgine was the perfect line for our latest women’s editorial, Disco Doll. We took inspiration from the glitzy and decadent 1970’s disco days, as well as Roger and Mauricio Padilha’s book Gloss, on sensational photographer Chris von Wangenheim.

Designer Georgina Ratelband’s Ossie Clark/Biba inspired creations are to die for! We’re in love with the decadent fox furs in vibrant teal and red, as well as the shimmering gold wrap dress and palazzo pants. Stylist Xina Giatas added vintage hats and veils to give model beauty Janiece Dilone a real Bianca Jagger/Studio 54 feel!
