GYSPY SPORT

F/W 2016

Gypsy Sport, the fresh, youth-oriented line from creative designer Rio Uribe, successfully showed at the second New York City Fashion Week for men. Well known for its gender-bending clothing, the 2015 CFDA Fashion Fund winner gave us a line made up primarily of warm brown tones and baby blue pastels. The collection succeeded in both color and design, with nods to both the 70s and 90s. The looks were mixed with shiny tracksuits, patchworks, fake fur, oversized neck warmers, bell bottoms, wide collars, striped corduroys, embellished headgear and floppy hats. A finishing touch was the tinted, sleek sunglasses, which was a collaboration with Haze Collection. At first look it may all appear as one big fashion mishmash. But, in actuality, the designs are from a gifted young man who is setting himself apart from the rest of the pack with much great success. We applaud him and look forward to many more successful seasons from the brilliance known as Gypsy Sport. Photography Alexander Thompson. http://gypsysportny.com
